Telugu Desam Melbourne is a committee formed in 2019 by a group of dedicated individuals to support the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) - a prominent political party in the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, India. The committee actively works to promote TDP's values, engage with the Telugu community in Melbourne, and foster awareness of political and social developments in the Telugu states.
TDP Party is founded by a famous Legend Telugu actor, Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao (Popularly known as NTR), on the 29th of March 1982. It emerged as the most successful political party in the two state's history.
The core ideologies of the party is to serve to uplift the social and economic development of the Telugu people as well as to empower women, youth, farmers and the backward segments of the two Telugu States (A.P and Telangana).
TDP Melbourne is affiliated to TDP India and is supported by the NRT (Non-residents of Telugu) organisation of A.P.
Our main aim is to bring together all TDP supporters in Melbourne to strengthen the party and its ideology, protecting and promoting the culture and language of the Telugu society.
